New Mexico State Treasurer's Office Celebrates National ABLE Savings Day and National Financial Awareness Day with
Special Match Incentive
Santa Fe - August 14th marks National ABLE Savings Day, a day recognized by ABLE Today and the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) to raise awareness of ABLE Account programs and their life-changing impact on the lives of people with disabilities. These accounts have helped thousands of individuals in the disability community take control of their financial futures, build independence, and plan with confidence. In honor of this empowering day of savings, the New Mexico State Treasurer’s Achieving a Better Life Experience (NM STABLE) program is proud to introduce the NM STABLE Account Enrollment Incentive!
From August 1 through August 31, 2025, the NM STABLE Account Enrollment Incentive will be available to all eligible individuals who open a new NM STABLE account. Through this effort and in partnership with the Ohio State Treasurer’s Office, NM STABLE will match the minimum initial deposit of $25 that the new accountholder contributes when opening an account.
National ABLE Savings Day also coincides with Financial Awareness Day, offering a timely reminder to focus on finances and plan for a more secure future.
"We are excited to partner with the Ohio State Treasurer’s Office to offer this great opportunity to our fellow New Mexicans," said Treasurer Laura M. Montoya. "With a NM STABLE account, you can save and invest with confidence while protecting critical benefits, like Medicaid and SSI. There’s no better day than today to take control of your financial future."
By offering this incentive, NM STABLE aims to help more individuals jumpstart their savings and investment journeys. To learn more about enrollment and eligibility, visit https://nmstable.com/.
